Gyromancer

Well, my PC monitor is fried from dragon fighting in Dragon Age. So I'm stuck back to my ancient laptop. I could go and play Torchlight but there's this new game from Pop Cap and Square Enix called Gyromancer. So let me take a look and see.

So you get the super casual game company Pop Cap and merge it with the RPG world of Square Enix and you get a Puzzle Quest rip off. It's basically the same thing - instead of RPG combat you get Bejeweled combat. You match at least 3 blocks / gems /whatever and that is basically it. I'm sure if you liked Bejeweled or even Puzzle Quest, you'll definitely like this game as the art is far better.

To tell you the truth, I'd rather just go and get Puzzle Quest as they are the one that started this concept. I was expecting more of a casual RPG considering the big companies that made the game maybe in the style of Penny Arcade Adventures but without their humor. I liked Puzzle Quest but I never loved it (Bejeweled bores me to death after some time). This isn't a game for me but if you did enjoy that - go ahead and try it first - they have a demo available now.

I'll be waiting to either get my monitor fixed or grab a new LCD (though I could just grab an old CRT and spend the money on games...). For now, Torchlight awaits me.
