King's Bounty Armored Princess

Just to take a quick break from Dragon Age (saving the world from Darkspawn is stressful), I grabbed the demo of King's Bounty Armored Princess. I ranted around half a year ago on the greatness that is King's Bounty. It's a game where you have a hero - recruit armies, battle monsters and save the world. We now have the follow up - technically a stand alone expansion for the original King's Bounty.

Armored Princess is more of an expansion as it merely adds upon the first game. There's a lot more creatures - robots, lizard people and additional troops for existing races. There's a few more spells like the first one that caught my eye was the guardian angel spell which would deal damage to enemies if they attacked your creature (like a counter attack). Also, the rage abilities are now on a dragon who looks like Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. The abilities are pretty much the same with a few new additional skills. You take the role of the princess in the first game but all grown up now. I have no idea why the title is armored though, she barely wears anything...

Graphics are slightly enhanced but it generally looks the same as the first one. The interesting new graphic feature is the 3D mode where you need one of those regular 3d-glasses (the red and blue ones not those super fancy 3D monitors). I've tried it out a bit, it sort of works but it will definitely strain your eye.

Personally, if you liked the first game and want more of the same - you will definitely like this one. However, if you never tried the first one but are interested in this - go grab the demo and if you like it, grab it when it comes out this Friday, November 20.
